Membrane work, July 10, 2026

Weather: 23°C, cloudy, some sun
Workers onsite: At least five

Work done today:

  • Pavers were extended out from the main entrance of the 244 building main entrance
  • This allows use of both the main entrance and the fire door exit adjacent to it

Membrane work, July 9, 2026

Weather: 22°C, sun and clouds
Workers onsite: At least four

Work done today:

  • Sand compacted in front of 244 main entrance
  • Pavers restored in front of the 244 main entrance
  • Partial removal of sidewalk/pavers from adjacent fire door to allow for completion of work in area
  • Pedestrian access restored through main entrance via temporary “bridge” (see photos below)

Mail was delivered today after I again let in the postal worker, but with the main entrance open, deliveries, and guests will now be able to get in and out of the building as they normally would.

The work was actually completed a day earlier than anticipated, per the official Prostar notice.

There is no timeline yet on completion of the Phase 1 extension area, but I believe council has decisions to make regarding sloping and drains, which should happen soon.

Building 244 pedestrian access to entrance restored by Friday, July 10, 2026

UPDATE, 7 pm, July 9, 2026: Work was actually completed a day early, access to the 244 main entrance is now open.

As the title states, Prostar has released the following notice stating the Building 244 main entrance will be open again to pedestrian access by tomorrow, July 10, 2026:

Membrane work, July 8, 2026

Weather: 23°C, mostly cloudy, sun late
Workers onsite: At least four

Work done today:

  • Sealant applied to the area in the Building 244 entrance area
  • Membrane applied to the area in Building 244 entrance area

I also let the letter carrier in for the third day in a row. Apologies if she only brought you bills!

Membrane work, July 7, 2026

Weather: 24°C, mostly sunny
Workers onsite: At least four

Work done today:

  • Membrane at the Building 244 entrance was stripped in preparation for sealant and new membrane to be laid down
  • New membrane was delivered to the site
  • The membrane drop down at the north end of the Phase 1 extension was extended to be the proper full eight inches

Also of note: I once again let the mail delivery person in, so we got mail delivery for a second day. Someone else apparently let in an Amazon delivery person as I could see new packages in the lobby (mailroom) and delivered to units on the ground floor. Whoever did that, thanks!

Membrane work, July 6, 2026

Weather: 29°C, sunny
Workers onsite: At least six

Work done today:

  • Work was focused on demolition of the area in front of the Building 244 entrance
  • Pavers were removed and stacked in the central courtyard
  • Sand is being stored in the emergency repair area
  • The area was cleared down to the membrane
  • The Terminator (see photo below) is parked in the area, ready to remove membrane

As noted before, Prostar refused to give a time estimate of how long this work will take, nor have they explained how the mail and other deliveries will get in when the workers placed red caution tape directly (and extensively) in front of the doors.

I am giving my own estimate of 3–14 days for completion. At least the weather does not look to be a factor.
