UPDATE, 6:40 p.m.: The elevator is now working again. The issue was the system shutting down due to the elevator door being held open too long on the second floor. Don't do this, please!
UPDATE, 6:10 p.m. The Richmond Elevator tech is now onsite.
UPDATE, 4:50 p.m. After two calls made and no callback from Richmond Elevator, Jeff called a third time and discovered, for reasons unexplained, that the after hours dispatch had not contacted Richmond Elevator. After the third call, Jeff did finally hear back from Richmond Elevator and a tech is actually being sent. They wanted to come Monday morning but Jeff told them to come tonight (Sunday).
Unfortunately this means it will be a few more hours before the elevator is working again.
Thanks for your patience!
As of 2:25 p.m. today (Sunday, October 25, 2026) I can report the following:
- Jeff (Strata President) was notified of the elevator in Building 244 not working (again) around 9 a.m. this morning.
- He called the emergency number for Richmond Elevator and got confirmation that a tech was being dispatched for repair.
- Around 2 p.m. this afternoon Jeff called back and confirmed all details and was told Richmond Elevator was dispatched to Copperstone Building 244.
I don’t know why they haven’t arrived yet. My best guess is they have multiple calls and may be working through them in order. Our call was designated “urgent” due to multiple people in the building with accessibility issues.
I’ll update when the elevator is working again.
