A reminder to strata council: Speed bumps don’t work when they’re not in place.

P.S. And if you think there’s a chance it will still snow enough to require plowing, I have, as they say, a bridge to sell to you.

Rain or shine, we are working to keep Copperstone clean! Today’s cleanup was handled by Jeff and was extra special, as you’ll see below.
At the entrance to the parkade, Jeff found a full MacPherson strut, which is part of a vehicle suspension system:
If you see either of us out cleaning up, feel free to say hi. We do this because we want Copperstone to be a better home and community not just for us, but for everyone who lives here.
Although it was originally promised to be re-opened in November 2023, the pedestrian path next to the Royal Columbian Hospital lane has finally re-opened as of today, March 5, 2025.
This is now a mixed-use path, so be sure to watch for bikes (though it is also wider than before), and there is now a fence separating it from the lane itself.
Enjoy!
UPDATE, March 12, 2025: Changed the amount for parkade lighting from $25,000 to $20,000 after confirmation of final amount in the AGM 2025 Agenda.
We’ll have more on this soon, but for now, the council meeting held on February 27, 2025, revealed the following:
Strata council had the speed bumps removed on January 30, 2025. As of today, February 13, 2025, they are still missing.
Speed bumps can’t slow down traffic if they’re not there. They need to be put back.
Copperstone deserves better.
There is now a bench available in the lobby of the 244 building. Feel free to get off your feet when waiting for a guest or delivery to arrive!
We are working on getting a bench for the 248 building, after which all three buildings and the courtyard will each have at least one bench.
