Work done today:

  • Initial work in placing the root barrier between the 244 and 248 buildings
  • Initial work in placing the root barrier behind the 244 building
  • Metal flashing completed on patios
  • Workers onsite: At least four observed

The root barrier is a thick, cloth-like cover that is permeable to allow moisture through, but with a fine mesh designed to inhibit roots from penetrating. It is laid on top of the membrane to protect it from any plants or trees growing above.

Work done today:

  • More work on patio restoration, including new metal flashing placed along edges.
  • Other preparation for the root barrier that will sit atop the membrane between the 244 and 248 buildings and behind the 244 building.
  • Liquid membrane material applied to the base of the concrete curb. This is the same material used around the drains.
  • Workers onsite: At least three, possibly more.

The biweekly site meeting took place virtually today. Attending were:

  • Strata Engineering
  • Prostar
  • Copperstone Council, represented by the Vice-President
  • Quay Pacific, represented by James Jamieson

The fourth membrane report will be sent to owners soon.

Work done today:

  • A reglet cut was made along the concrete curb that was installed on November 5th. This is to prevent any possible cracks from spreading.
  • The first pieces of metal flashing were put back along multiple patios.
  • Workers onsite: At least four.

  • More pavers returned to the patios. At this point, all five patios have the majority of the pavers restored. The boarding and stone cladding work remains to be done.
