Copperstone Community was created in March 2024 to provide updates, information and opinion on the Copperstone BCS2742 strata in New Westminster, B.C.
It’s an unofficial site and does not represent the views of anyone except myself. I present both official strata updates and my own information and opinions. I work to insure everything is as accurate as possible. I will correct mistakes when they are discovered.
My motivation for creating the site was simple: Copperstone is my home. I have lived here since 2012 and I want my home to be welcoming, safe and pleasant not just for myself and my partner, but for everyone who lives here or visits. I am a strong advocate for “if you want something done, do it yourself”, working for positive change and helping others. This site is meant to inform the residents of Copperstone on what is happening here, especially as Copperstone lacks its own website and forum (it used to have a dedicated website years ago–and it should have one now, I think).
Sometimes I push for change. If I see something I don’t like, I will say so. I always try to be civil and reasonable, but my stance on certain things can ruffle the feathers of some people. I’ve had a previous council ask for the website to be taken down because, to the best of my knowledge, they did not like facing criticism (by the way, I am fine with allowing other people to offer their own thoughts here–just email me at admin@copperstonecommunity.org).
I strongly believe in keeping information as open and accessible as possible. Hiding information away is often just a way for people to do things they shouldn’t be doing and in a strata, that can lead to disaster.
Enjoy the site and if you live at Copperstone, feel free to send feedback on the site and how it can be improved (unless it’s “shut the site down”–I’m not doing that! :P)
